ADHD Care
at MindWell

At MindWell, we specialize in ADHD care that goes far beyond a checklist and a prescription. We take the time to understand what ADHD is actually doing in your life, your relationships, and your sense of self, so you can stop trying to function like someone you are not and start building something that actually works for how your brain is wired.

What ADHD Actually Is

ADHD is not a focus problem. It is an executive functioning problem.

That means it affects how you make decisions, regulate your emotions, manage your time, follow through on intentions, and sustain motivation for things that do not immediately reward you. It shows up differently in every person. For some it looks like impulsivity. For others it is chronic lateness, unfinished projects, emotional dysregulation, or a sense of always running behind no matter how hard you try.

What makes ADHD particularly easy to miss, or mismanage, is that it rarely shows up alone. Anxiety, depression, trauma, and sleep problems frequently overlap with ADHD, and treating one without understanding the full picture can mean years of care that never quite hits the mark.

At MindWell, we do not jump to conclusions. And we do not jump to medication.

Our Approach

Our Approach

We believe that an accurate diagnosis is the foundation of everything. That is why our diagnostic service partner ensures a comprehensive ADHD evaluation before any treatment decisions are made. Because treating ADHD when something else is driving your symptoms is not just ineffective -- it is a disservice.

Once we understand what is actually going on, we build a treatment plan around you.

Medication, when appropriate, plays a specific role in that plan. But medication is a bridge, not a destination. Our goal is never to manage your symptoms indefinitely. It is to help you build the capacity to navigate your life - with structure, with intention, and eventually with less reliance on medication over time.

That means we work with you on what we call the three foundations: structure, schedule, and sound. These are practical systems designed to help the ADHD brain function well in daily life - not by forcing it to work like a neurotypical brain, but by working with how it actually operates.

We also help each patient identify their dopamine dangle - the specific motivators that are uniquely meaningful to them - because sustainable habit and follow-through are not about willpower. They are about understanding what makes your brain want to engage, and building a life around that.

Meet Beverly Glavan

Beverly Glavan, PMHNP-BC, is MindWell's lead provider for ADHD care, and she brings a depth of perspective to this work that is genuinely rare.

With over 20 years of nursing experience across emergency medicine, the neonatal intensive care unit, and family medicine, Beverly has spent her career learning to look past the presenting symptom and ask what is really going on underneath. She has watched anxiety present as a racing heart. Depression as exhaustion. Unprocessed stress as physical pain. That clinical history trained her to see the whole person, and it is exactly the kind of lens that ADHD care requires.

Beverly came to psychiatry after navigating the mental health system herself as a mother. When her son was placed on a psychiatric hold at 17, she found herself confused, unsupported, and given almost no real guidance about her options. The provider recommended medication. No one explained the tradeoffs. No one walked her family through what they were actually facing. Her son was eventually discharged from therapy after just a few sessions and deemed fine. She knew he was not.

That experience never left her. It is the reason she sits with families and explains every available option. It is the reason she never rushes the conversation about medication. And it is the reason she believes that patients and their families deserve to be genuine partners in their own care.

If you have spent years being told you just need to focus more, try harder, or get organized -- Beverly will be the first person to tell you that was never the real problem.

What to expect at MindWell

Your first appointment is a comprehensive evaluation. We review your full history, including medical, psychiatric, family, and lifestyle context, alongside the specific challenges that brought you here. If a formal ADHD assessment is needed, we coordinate that through our third-party diagnostic partner before making any treatment recommendations.

You will leave your first appointment with clarity about what is going on, what your options are, and what comes next. No vague next steps.

From there, follow-up sessions are built around your progress, your goals, and what is actually shifting in your daily life, not just whether the medication seems to be working.
